White Flower Shiitake
A few 'Donko' or 'White Flower Shiitake' developing. These highly prized mushrooms develop their white 'cracked' appearance from growing very slowly over a long period of time in lower than normal humidity.
Reishi Sawdust Block Cultivation
Once our reishi blocks finish their initial fruiting we bury them in raised beds and they become perennial mushroom patches. Sometimes fruiting several times per season over the course of several seasons before they are 'spent' and become part of the soil.
More Reishi Growing
Different stages of the reishi growing process. Depending on the time of year we will grow 'antlers' in the bags or take them out to form 'conks'.
Shiitake Log Cultivation
Although it isn't our primary method of cultivation, we are great fans of growing mushrooms on logs. These particular shiitake logs were innoculated three years ago and continue to produce well. We also have stumps and other logs around the property growing reishi and more shiitake. We try to add as many new logs to the stacks every year.
